As well as receiving his ASC manual from our Education Director Phil, Kevan also won the Novel competition – this was only his third CSC meeting!
Many congratulations Kevan and we wish you every success in the District Novel competition.

This year Cardiff Speakers Club hosted the inter-club debate with the title “This House believes that the UK needs Trident”.
Speaking for CSC and proposing the motion were Nigel P and Terry B, whilst Cardiff Mixed SC spoke against the motion and Brecon SC contributed a floor speaker. After an audience vote, the motion was carried by a single vote!
Congratulations also to Caitlin J (Cardiff Mixed SC) who was awarded the best speaker trophy.
Last Thursday saw the 2015 club Novel Competition. The idea is that the contestant reads out a 3 minute novelette and finishes on a cliff-hanger. The audience votes on which story they want to hear the conclusion of – so competitors try to leave them wanting more!
Congratulations to John and Gwilym, our runner-up and winner this year.
Gwilym was presented with the Novel competition trophy by Cardiff Speakers Club President Lloyd.
Stephen (pictured left) achieved the runner-up spot recently in the ASC 2015 National Topics Competition – many congratulations Stephen and we were delighted you could join us at the dinner!
